Torben Skov Hansen, an experienced engineer, made a bold move from being a development manager in a prominent company in northern Jutland to becoming the innovation leader at the entrepreneurial firm Chromaviso. The decision was an easy one for him.
— When I first heard about Chromaviso, I was intrigued by their emphasis on 'ergonomic' lighting. It was clear that they think outside the box by combining lighting with practical applications. As someone with a core expertise in lighting, I was immediately captivated. During my studies, the interaction between light and matter was a major focus, and here I found a company that focused on the interaction between light and people. I had to learn more, so the choice was obvious, explains Torben Skov Hansen.
A Shared Future
— Through my conversations with Chromaviso, I experienced excellent internal communication and a strong commitment. We came to an agreement about our shared future. With my technical expertise in lighting and experience in product development, I contribute to the innovative process and value creation. My task is to develop a product area and a technical portfolio within my field of competence. I am responsible for innovation and quality-related tasks in relation to the market. Additionally, I provide technical assistance for particularly demanding sales projects, he explains.
Unique research on circadian lighting
— Chromaviso had recently been awarded funding for a research project at Aarhus University Hospital and Glostrup Hospital, aimed at further developing the existing evidence-based knowledge about circadian lighting. From the beginning, this research project has been my main focus, and it marks the first time that circadian lighting is systematically being applied to patients and subjected to real research on this scale. We are implementing circadian lighting throughout entire departments and are intimately involved in its actual use. This provides invaluable insight into usability and the system's resilience, which is truly unique, shares Torben Skov Hansen.
Originating from user-driven needs
— Chromaviso is here because there is a market need for a company that truly understands the needs of its customers. We are closely connected to our users and work towards providing personalized solutions. Chromaviso's origins stem from user-driven needs, and our driving force is to comprehend the significance of light for people. Through functional lighting design, we create optimal conditions for both patients and staff. Being a part of a company that brings about change and adds value to the healthcare sector is immensely satisfying, he concludes.
