Chromaviso Wins the Contract for Circadian Lighting in Aabenraa

At Chromaviso, the smiles were even bigger than usual when they received the news that the contract for the circadian lighting system, worth around 6.8 million DKK, for the new psychiatric building in Aabenraa had been secured.

— We have worked hard and focused to secure our position among the leading lighting providers. With the order in Aabenraa, we have solidified our position. It is a milestone in Chromaviso's history - and we are putting all our energy into delivering an optimal lighting solution, says Anders Kryger, CEO of Chromaviso.

A Solution that Met the Requirements

As is customary in the industry, the process of selecting a lighting supplier has been underway for many months. The public tender was issued by the Psychiatry Construction Secretariat in the Region of Southern Denmark back in the spring of 2013. Initially, the lighting part only concerned white light. After the allocation was given, the addition of special lighting followed.

Hans Peter Smidt from the consulting engineering firm Wessberg A/S, who originally won the project competition together with WHITE architects, explains the choice of Chromaviso:

— It was a solution that met the requirements that were set. I had knowledge of Chromaviso from some projects in operating rooms. We are the ones responsible for the project description and drawing, so we know the scope and needs.

Imminent Start of Installation

In the end, it was the electrical contractor WICOTEC KIRKEBJERG A/S who obtained offers from three lighting suppliers, each with their own concept. Together with Wessberg A/S, WICOTEC KIRKEBJERG A/S nominated Chromaviso to the client.

The details of the lighting project in the new Aabenraa psychiatric building are being worked out in collaboration between WICOTEC KIRKEBJERG A/S and Chromaviso.

— It has been a positive experience to work together with WICOTEC KIRKEBJERG A/S from the start, says Anders Kryger before concluding:

— We are in good dialogue and look forward to the imminent start of installation in Aabenraa over the summer of 2014. Chromaviso's circadian lighting is a unique concept that has been installed and tested at Aarhus University Hospital and Glostrup Hospital – we never compromise on the quality of our installations.
