New Acute Hospital Chooses Health-Promoting Light From Chromaviso

Skaraborg Hospital in Skövde is constructing a state-of-the-art acute hospital with health-promoting lighting from Danish company Chromaviso – a solution of the highest standard, according to Leif Fransson, director at SP Gruppen, one of the consulting firms on the project.

— We conducted a thorough cost-benefit analysis of price, products, services, level of evidence, and ultimately chose Chromaviso. Chromaviso is a highly competent and reliable partner, possessing essential knowledge and evidence that ensures a health-promoting effect on both patients and staff. Furthermore, their solution is of the highest standard in terms of design, products, warranties, services, and commissioning. We are confident that the lighting in Skövde will be a success, as it has proven to be in other major hospitals, explains Leif Fransson, director at SP Gruppen, one of the consulting firms on the project.

The Solution

The new AS Blocket, which is the name of the construction, spans a total of 40,000 square meters and features an integrated lighting solution tailored to the different departments. It also incorporates a diagnosis-specific light protocol to ensure optimal conditions for the treatment of critically ill patients, as well as the well-being and productivity of the staff.

In the intensive care unit, post-operation area, and emergency units, they have opted for Chroma Zenit circadian lighting – Chromaviso's evidence-based solution, which has been documented in research projects conducted at prestigious institutions such as Rigshospitalet. Additionally, they have chosen to integrate the solution with music intervention, which promotes recovery and integrity.

For the 12 operating rooms and 2 hybrid operating rooms equipped for endoscopic surgery, open surgery, and imaging diagnostics, they have selected Chromaviso's Ergonomic Lighting solution. This innovative approach utilizes coloured lighting to create the optimal screen display and working environment before, during, and after surgery.

The Skövde project is just one of the many Swedish hospitals that have embraced this Danish lighting solution. Other notable hospitals, including Karlstad Central Hospital, Malmö, Värnamo, Eksjö, and Södersjukhuset, have also chosen this remarkable solution.
