Chromaviso Becomes Exclusive Provider of Lighting in Torshavn

Landssygehuset, Torshavn has chosen Chromaviso as the exclusive provider of health-promoting lighting for their new extension, Building H.

A comprehensive lighting solution spanning 10,000 sqm that supports both patients and staff is what awaits at the new national hospital in the Faroe Islands when Chromaviso's lighting solutions are installed and ready for use.

Bogi Dam Jakobsen, project manager at Landssygehuset, Torshavn, states:

— We have had an excellent start to our collaboration with Chromaviso. I have rarely encountered such a dedicated team. They have been persistent throughout the entire process, starting with illuminating the system and clarifying its benefits and drawbacks, to ultimately achieving a result that satisfies the client's requirements and expectations on multiple fronts. The system is a high-quality solution that is highly flexible and future-proof, and we look forward to a fruitful partnership for many years to come.

The project introduces innovative fixtures from Chromaviso, cutting-edge technologies, and specialized lighting protocols tailored to each medical specialty:

  • Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Acute Care – reduces depression, hospitalization time, and readmissions
  • Psychiatric outpatient clinic for daily visits by psychiatric patients
  • Rehabilitation - improves treatment, quality of life, and outcomes
  • Maternity ward - stimulates the phases of childbirth and ensures a comforting atmosphere

The hospital is set to open next summer, and Chromaviso's specialists are involved throughout the entire process. Currently, they are collaborating with local installers to ensure the optimal installation.

The comprehensive lighting solution has been developed based on research findings from:

  • Professor Claus Martiny, Psychiatric Center Copenhagen
  • Doctor Anders West, Stroke Rehabilitation, Rigshospitalet
  • Doctor Tone Henriksen, Psychiatric Emergency Department, Valen Hospital, Norway
  • Experiences and evaluations from Lillebælt Hospital and Aarhus University Hospital's maternity wards
  • User surveys and evaluations from over 400 nurses/doctors/assistants who have used Chroma Zenit circadian lighting daily at work
  • Experiences based on more than 120 hospitals implementing Chromaviso's health-promoting lighting.
