Ergonomic Circadian Light is Effective at Lokalcenter Sønderskovhus

In April 2016, Chromaviso conducted a user survey among the staff who work regularly in the circadian lighting at Lokalcenter Sønderskovhus - and the results speak for themselves.

A welfare technology concept

Lokalcenter Sønderskovhus has implemented Ergonomic Circadian Lighting in 12 nursing homes, dining areas, living rooms, and several activity rooms. This lighting system is a welfare technology concept designed to optimize the physiological, visual, psychological, and therapeutic conditions for both residents and staff. Recently, Chromaviso conducted a user survey among the permanent staff at Lokalcenter Sønderskovhus. Thirteen staff members shared their experiences and satisfaction levels with the lighting concept.

The survey results indicate the following:

  • The staff is extremely satisfied and eager to recommend it to others. They have experienced reduced fatigue, increased energy, enhanced tranquility, and improved mental clarity as the effects of the lighting system.
  • The various lighting settings provide immense value. The staff frequently utilize these settings to create a calming and comforting atmosphere.
  • Positive impact on the residents. The staff has observed a positive impact on the residents, including reduced aggression, decreased nighttime wandering, improved sleep, increased appetite, and higher energy levels.
  • User-friendly operation - in every room. The staff rates the operation as easy to use and emphasizes the importance of being able to control the lighting from any room.
  • The night staff have given positive feedback on the night lighting. They can see well in the soft glow, which allows them to read and write comfortably. It also creates a sense of security and calmness, promoting quieter conversations. Two out of three staff members find it easier to fall asleep after their night shifts.
